1. Avoid extremes in temperature or humidity, especially sudden changes from one to another or the stresses of non uniform wood movement can cause cracks. Burls and other highly figured woods are more prone to cracking than straight grained objects.
2. Avoid storing in direct sunlight, as ultra-violet light will affect the color, grain, and finish.
3. Goblets can be cleaned with a slightly dampened cloth and a mild soap, but must be rinsed with a cloth damp with clear water, and then thoroughly dried. A light coat of mineral oil or walnut oil can be applied with a lint free cloth, once the bowl has been dried, to protect the surface for storage.
4. Do not use Goblets for hot items or for liquids, and avoid direct sunlight for display or storage.

Hand oils alone should provide sufficient polishing during continual usage. If stored for long periods, or if the wood begins to feel dry, a periodic light application of a hard paste wax can be applied, allowed to dry fully, and then buffed off with a clean and dry jersey material. Avoid any aerosol waxes as the propellant may harm the finishes.

Uses a standard Parker refill. The refill is replaced by unscrewing the metal nib at the writing end of the pen.
